Jim MacNee, Principal & Founder

 

With over 20 years' experience in retained executive search, Jim MacNee founded Maitland Partners Executive Search a

Jim MacNee founded Maitland Partners Executive Search in 1999 as a premier retained executive search firm serving clients nationwide. Having made executive placements in most functional disciplines in the medical device, hospitality, distribution, gaming, technology, manufacturing, financial services, ESOP, tribal and aerospace industries, Jim is particularly adept at understanding the cultural needs of his clients and identifying the best-qualified candidates to lead their organizations.

 

Prior to founding Maitland Partners Jim was President of Manchester Plastics, a manufacturer of extruded sheet products; General Manager of Bear Medical Systems, an international medical device company that designed, manufactured, and distributed adult and infant critical care ventilators; and Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Officer for Allied Healthcare Products, Inc. Jim started his business career working for Chrysler Corporation in HR / labor relations.

 

Jim has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Albion College and earned a graduate degree in Human Resource Management from Washington University in St. Louis. He has taught Organizational Development for the University of Phoenix MBA Program and speaks on Leadership, Job Search Skills, Succession Planning, Social Media & Change Management at conferences nationwide. 

 

A lifelong learner, Jim believes in professional development and in the past several years has focused on building his knowledge of ESOP-owned companies. Jim has participated in several programs at the Beyster Institute, UC San Diego Rady School of Management including Advanced Governance of Employee Ownership Companies: Corporate Directors’ Exchange and a Certificate Program for Non-Professional ESOP Fiduciaries. Jim is also a member of the National Center for Employee Ownership and spoke on succession planning at their 2019 national convention. Jim has served as the PIHRA District 11 (Inland Empire) Careers Chair and has been involved in SHRM since the late 1980’s.

 

With three grown children, Jim and his wife stay remarkably busy.

 
 
 
Kathrene Wales, Senior Executive Recruiter
 

Since 2006, Kathrene has served as an executive recruiter. Her work in the nonprofit sector as a management consultant and administrator spans over 25 years. She brings a strong business acumen to the table, having worked in a leadership capacity for a wide spectrum of organizations. Kathrene has also shared her experiences as a guest speaker at universities and special interest group forums. Her background encompasses directing several Boards and volunteer committees, including her three-year term as the President of a Chicago-area Chamber of Commerce. During her tenure as the Executive Director of Arts Bridge, a business incubator for arts and culturally-oriented small businesses, she received the international Athena Award for Outstanding Business Woman of the Year. Plus, she was recognized as part of the "Women Making
a Difference" tribute by Today's Chicago Woman magazine. Presently, Kathrene is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Desert Communities Chapter and the Advisory Board for Hedwig Dances, a critically acclaimed contemporary dance company. She received her B.A. in Communications from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana. Kathrene is pleased to call Southern California and the Coachella Valley home.

 

 
 
Kathy MacDougall, Ed.D., Organizational Development Consultant
 

Kathy is a seasoned business and operations professional with expertise in transformational leadership. In addition to her work with Maitland Partners, Kathy leads the strategic HR alignment for Plasticard-Locktech International. Most recently, Kathy was responsible for all business and people-related activity for the IES team as COO. Prior, Kathy was HR Manager for Luxfer Gas Cylinders. She was an active member of the facility leadership team, and led efforts in learning and growth strategy. As VP, HR for Aptera, Kathy led the HR function for this exciting start-up organization. As Director, Human Resources for Independent Energy Solutions, she led all transformational activities to deliver performance, structure and results. In her previous role as General Manager of a multimillion dollar global manufacturer in California, Luxfer Gas Cylinders, Kathy was instrumental in leading continuous improvement activity resulting in sustainable and repeatable operations. She was Lead Team Trainer for “Accountability Models for Team Leaders” and successfully managed a highly unionized environment. Also the former Corporate Director of Human Resources, she has been responsible for every aspect of Human Resource Management, Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance for a large international manufacturer.

Utilizing her management skills that were honed with Ed.D studies and an MBA, Kathy is a superior negotiator, arbitrator and mediator. Her attention to detail and ability to compile data, analyze situations, project resources and meet goals is further evidenced through her highly developed interpersonal relations and communication skills.

Originally from Utah, Kathy now calls Nevada home. Kathy MacDougall supports the belief that “it is about the journey, not the destination.” She leads an active life which includes sailing, rock climbing and other outdoor sports and has been both a private pilot and sky diver.

Christi is a decisive, innovative, results-oriented leadership executive with a diversified communications background and 
25 years of experience in the areas of retained executive search, marketing operations, brand strategy development, nonprofit fundraising and political campaign management. Her leadership competencies include managing small- to multi-million-dollar budgets, fiscal management, market analysis, social media and public relations, an ability to forge strong client relationships, inspiring presentation skills, and a voice of change in her community. 

Christi is shareholder of Maitland Partners (a 50% woman-owned corporation), a member of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) of Orange County, completed her gerontology certificate program in 2019, is a proud alumnus of the Leadership Riverside program (class of 2012), was named Riverside volunteer of the year (2012), and served as a Riverside Area Rape Crisis Counselor/Advocate (2011-2012).
